0:01 Hey everybody, it's Thursday. Don't sweat it. Normal episode is going to come on Saturday, but I needed to jump on here and talk to you real quick because it's kind of an emergency. I want to show you something here real quick. This is a Trey you and Davery and their children. Now, I'm fairly familiar with a Trey, you and his young family. They have been to my home. They made it my table. A Trey, you and I have had more than just a few deep discussions about the restored gospel. Trey is a good man. He lives the restored gospel and his temple covenants to the best of his ability. He works to support his family and then on top of that, having the servant's heart. He wants to contribute to his community. So he's a volunteer EMT for the local ambulance in his little town in Nevada.

0:47 He also works on the mine rescue team at where he works because he desires to be of service. He's a tremendous husband and father and priesthood holder. I can't say enough good things about this, this young man and his family. Now, what should be happening right now is that Atreyu's family, they should be winding up for the holidays. Their children should be feeling the magical excitement that only this time of year can bring. Atreyu and Davery should be planning family get togethers and parties. But unfortunately, this year, the holiday season has been overshadowed by illness. Just a little over a week ago, Atreyu was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive form of cancer. Given that aggressive nature of, of this cancer and after consulting with his medical team and and making a a matter of prayer, they feel like the best course of action is to meet this with an aggressive form of treatment. So starting next week, Atreyu will be starting radiation five days a week for 5 1/2 weeks.

1:43 Following that, Atreyu will begin a weeks long protocol of inpatient chemotherapy, meaning he's not coming home when he's receiving those treatments. To further complicate the issue, those treatments are over 3 hours away from where he lives. Making that even harder. It now becomes apparent that neither Atreyu nor Davery will be able to work given that they have to be away from home for these treatments and Atreyu will need that help. Now, just because Atreyu and Davery aren't working doesn't mean the bills to stop coming in. In fact, they're only going to get worse with co-pays, lodging, meals, all the expenses that go along with getting this kind of treatment far from home.

If we donated just 5 or 10 bucks, everybody in this audience, we would get rid of a lot of the financial burdens that this young family is going to have to face.

And this is one of our own. He may not go to the same church you do, but he is a Mormon fundamentalist doing the best he can and raising his family. And now they need a little bit of help. And we have to come to the rescue. And I know that you are the people for it. I have felt your love, your concern. I have seen it in action before when others have needed it. And I know we're going to do this again. I love you and I thank you. I know what Trey you does as well. So let's relieve this burden for this family this holiday season.
